What is Lakhpati Didi Initiative
A Lakhpati Didi is a member of a Self-Help Group who has achieved an annual household income of ₹1 lakh or more.
- Income must be sustained across at least four agricultural seasons or business cycles
- Average monthly income exceeds ₹10,000
The initiative operates under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).
Each SHG household is encouraged to undertake multiple livelihood activities along with value chain interventions to ensure sustainable income growth.

- Skill development and financial access
- Branding, packaging and market linkage
Capacity Building
- Regular structured training for SHG members
- Strengthening institutional capacity at grassroots level
Convergence
- Integration with other government schemes
- Partnerships with private sector for technical and financial support
Achievements
- One crore women achieved Lakhpati status since 2023
- Target enhanced from 2 crore to 3 crore Lakhpati Didis
- 83 lakh SHGs with nearly 9 crore women engaged
- More than ₹6,000 crore disbursed to SHGs
